Return to Monkey Island is now available on Google Play and the App Store

The fantastical pirate adventure charts new territory with the addition of mobile capabilities. Launching on both phone and tablets, Return to Monkey Island runs $9.99. For those unfamiliar with Return to Monkey Island, Devolver Digital summarized a brief catch-up in their official announcement:

For buccaneers new to the Caribbean, be prepared for mystery, intrigue and numerous info pamphlets. The tangled history of Monkey Island’s most famous secret began over 30 years ago in the mind of creators Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman. Return to Monkey Island picks up the story of wannabe-pirate Guybrush Threepwood at the conclusion of 1991’s Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge, bringing the creators’ journey back full circle before setting sail for even wackier waters.

In out PS5 review, we scored it 90 out of 100 saying, “Return to Monkey Island is a fantastic end to Guybrush’s compulsive search for the secret of Monkey Island and perfectly encapsulates what made these iconic games so popular in the first place. Despite the 30 year absence, not a step was missed, as Return is just as funny as its predecessors and seeing Elaine, LeChuck, Stan, and the rest of the gang together again is rather bittersweet. Charming characters – old and new alike, great dialogue, fun puzzles, an intuitive hint system, and a story which sees Guybrush visit multiple islands, all blend to make Return everything I had hoped for. I’m glad that I was able to finally uncover the secret of Monkey Island.”
