North Star Games has just announced that its family-friendly card game Dirty Pig is a finalist for Best Family Game from the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association, with its release coming this June. The game encourages players to get down and dirty with their pigs while avoiding the cleanliness of farmers.
Dirty Pig is an easy-to-learn family card game where your goal is to be the first player to dirty all of your pigs. Getting your pigs dirty may be easy enough, but keeping them dirty is more of a challenge; rain showers and pesky farmers are always at the ready to clean your pig! Seeking shelter in a barn may protect your pigs, but you never know how long they will remain dirty. If you can keep your pigs dirty (and happy), you win! Dirty Pig is a best-selling and Spiel Des Jahres Recommended game in Germany, and Mom’s Choice recently awarded Dirty Pig its Gold Seal of Approval.
North Star Games is thrilled to announce that its family card game, Dirty Pig, is a finalist for “Best Family Game” by the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA) as part of their 2019 Best Toys for Kids Awards program.
“Best Toys for Kids is the only annual toy list that is compiled by a national network of grassroots play experts who know specialty toys inside out,” notes Kimberly Mosley, President of ASTRA. Dirty Pig’s recognition marks the third consecutive year that one of North Star Games’ Happy Planet games is on ASTRA’s Best Toys for Kids list. Happy Salmon won ASTRA’s Best Game 6+ award in 2017, and Monster Match was a finalist in 2018.
“We are extremely excited that another game in our Happy Planet line is a Best Toy For Kids finalist,” states Dominic Crapuchettes, Founder and Co-President of North Star Games. “Dirty Pig is a German Spiel Des Jahres Recommended game, one of the top recognitions any game can get. We cannot wait to let the Pigs loose in June and for the excitement to begin here in the US!”
ASTRA retailers can now vote for the Best Toys For Kids finalists through May 8, 2019. ASTRA announces the winners at their annual Marketplace and Academy Trade Show in Pittsburgh on June 10.
