Today, ahead of the launch of the Summoner Wars comic series, Battle Quest Comics announced that their core titles will soon be available in hobby and gaming stores. As a GamingTrend exclusive, we can show you the new promo card for the TCG included with the comic.
“We're thrilled to add Battle Quest to our growing list of publishing partners,” said Tim Lenaghan, Vice President of Purchasing and Publisher Relations. “Their commitment to producing content for both the comic and specialty gaming markets is a natural fit for Universal's accounts. We look forward to introducing their line into new stores across channels.”
“Battle Quest is focused on finding new ways to immerse people in adventures they are passionate about, and signing with Universal represents a major step forward in doing just that” says Publisher Drew Kafoury. “The next big IP could very well come out of the tabletop and RPG space, and we want to help champion those stories as well as enhance the gamers' experience in their favorite spaces.”
Here's a look at the Elien in Exile card:

Battle Quest will return to the direct market and make its debut in hobby and gaming stores this fall with the release of SUMMONER WARS #1, featuring an exclusive playable card only available with purchase of the variant cover by Patrick Macchi! The series is co-written by Paul Cornell (Doctor Who) and Justin Zimmerman (The 27 Run) and features art by industry up-and-comer Patrick Macchi (Captain Canuck), colors by Morry Hollowell (Civil War); with a story plotted by Battle Quest and Plaid Hat Games and is wrapped in stunning covers by Plaid Hat’s Martin Abel and SUMMONER WARS illustrator Patrick Macchi. SUMMONER WARS promises to be one of the year’s highlights for comics and gaming fans alike, and a perfect entry point into a new market for Battle Quest!
Next up will be the company’s first omnibus, which exclusively collects the third and final volume in the celebrated mermaid epic, THE TRIDENT OF AURELIA, alongside the previous two, written by two-time Hugo Award-winner Lee Moyer, with art by Italian superstar Melissa Spandri.
