Elite Dangerous sets up Leonard Nimoy tribute in new update

Elite Dangerous will be setting up an interesting little tribute to Leonard Nimoy in their newest update, 1.2. The tribute will come in the form of a station called, appropriately, Nimoy Memorial Station.

Apart from that, there will also be a few new things sprinkled into the new update such as wings and wing beacons. It seems as if this new winged update will help cooperative play. This information was provided through an announcement on the games forums.

Player wings exist to enable cooperative game play. One of the neat features wings use to support this notion is the wing beacon. This nifty little device allows you to send a signal from normal space into the system’s super cruise environment…. Your wing will be able to see the signal – regardless of distance – as long as they are in super cruise in the system; they can use it just like a wake and drop down to your location.

Things on the Elite Dangerous front seem to be getting better and better. You can check out our review here.
