CD Projekt RED, who brought us the critically acclaimed RPG The Witcher, followed by The Witcher: Assassins of Kings, and who are currently working on the final part in the trilogy, have announced that they would be working with Dark Horse Comics, most famously known for the Hellboy series and the Star Wars comics. In their own words, they will unveil “something truly special for fans of the fantasy genre” (that’s me).
There’s a mystery near the edge of the Black Forest. We’d like to invite you to fear it with us.
My first guess, and what would be the most logical thing, is that it will be a Witcher-related graphic novel. I have no idea what the Black Forest is, and I looked it up, and there is mention of it on the wiki page of The Witcher, so it appears it is some place in The Witcher universe. Do to my enormous backlog I haven’t got around to finishing even the first game (I did read the books though). In that case I sincerely hope the books’ author, Andzrej Sapkowski, will be deeply involved with the project. In any case, all will be revealed at New York Comic Con.
A teaser trailer was released as well, but it doesn’t really add anything new to the news. Cause all it does is tease. But here you have it anyway.
