BioShock: The Collection unveiled, coming this September

There are a few games that stick out as revolutionary in my mind, and BioShock is certainly one of them. BioShock 2 expanded on a great many concepts, and Bioshock Infinite took an entirely new direction. All three of them represent an incredible series of games that are a must-have for any library. This morning, 2K Games unveiled BioShock: The Collection. With fully remastered versions of Bioshock 1 and 2, and an improved version of Bioshock Infinite, the bundle will include:

  • BioShock with director’s commentary from Ken Levine, a virtual museum of discarded concepts, and challenge rooms
  • BioShock 2 with Minerva’s Den and Protector Trials
  • BioShock Infinite with Columbia’s Finest pack, Clash in the Clouds, and both parts of the Burial at Sea story

The console editions will run at 1080p/60fps on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The PC version will likely (emphasis mine) feature similar framerate improving tech but without resolution limitations or a frame cap. Best of all, if you already own the PC version of BioShock, BioShock 2, or Minerva’s Den, you’ll receive the upgraded versions of those products absolutely free.

BioShock: The Collection comes to XBox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 13th at a price of $59.99   Check out 2K’s official announcement for all the details.
