Battlefield 3 Now Allows Console Players to Rent Servers

For the first time in the history of the franchise, console gamers will now be able to rent their own Battlefield 3 multiplayer servers. This allows for customization of private and ranked multiplayer matches and is a privilege that has PC exclusive until now. The process has been simplified for consoles, allowing players to rent and set up their servers directly from the main menu of the popular FPS. To make the process even easier, a trailer video has been released to walk console gamers through the process. Check it out after the jump.

There is no doubt that dedicated console players of Battlefield 3 will be happy with their new ability to customize the maps, modes, and gameplay settings in their server rotation.

Breanna has been gaming since infancy, if gnawing on an unattended controller counts as playing a game. One of the younger members of the Gaming Trend family, she dabbled in PC games as a kid but wasn't fully consumed by the hobby until the sixth generation of consoles. Now an avid PC and console gamer, she looks forward to the day when she can scape together enough cash to join the next gen club.

In the last week of middle school, a math teacher taught her how to program a calculator; she was pretty much hooked then and there. Currently working towards a degree in Computer Science and Applied Math, Breanna hope to someday make games instead of just writing about them. Other hobbies include playing guitar, binge-watching Netflix, and cooking delicious food.
