Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 SGF trailer teases campaign, PVE, and PVP

Warhammer 40, 000: Space Marine 2 is one of our most anticipated titles — I wrote entirely too much about it in my hands-on preview and video (which you can see below, of course).  Today at SGF we got a very brief look at the campaign again (which is fully cooperative for up to three Space Marine friends), but also an all-too-brief look at the PVE and PVP aspects of the game.  There is a larger deep-dive video coming on June 20th, but this trailer gives us a look at what appears to be Red Corsairs (possibly Chaos Marines?  Blood Angels? — you only see them briefly), as well as what appears to be a Blood Legion of Khorne.  Regardless of the heretics involved, the trailer loudly proclaims that the multiplayer aspects are coming along nicely.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Preview - [GamingTrend]

Fight as one of the Emperor’s greatest warriors and defend the Imperium against the horrors of the galaxy. Drive back the everlasting night in epic battles on far-flung planets with your deadly abilities and devastating weaponry. Powered by Saber Interactive’s proprietary Swarm Engine, Space Marine 2 will throw players into the deep end of the universe’s most spectacular battles, pitting them against the relentless Tyranid swarms!

In addition to its narrative-driven campaign, which players can enjoy solo or in up to 3-player co-op, Space Marine 2 will launch with a 3-player PvE mode and a 6v6 PvP skirmish mode, as recently confirmed in the Multiplayer Modes Reveal trailer. These replayable modes also feature a customization system, allowing players to outfit their Space Marines from helm to greaves, thanks to a wide choice of colors, heraldry decals, pauldrons, gauntlets, and more. The Season Pass will offer even more optional cosmetics, while new content like missions, enemies, and weapons will be available to all players through regular free updates.

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait much longer.  September 9th brings us Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with full cross-play compatibility.
