Can you play a musical instrument?

I personally played percussion so I can play almost anything you can beat with a stick.  Kinda fitting really...

None for me.  I wanted to play a trumpet as a kid but the band director said my teeth weren't right for it so he wanted me to be a percussionist... I passed on that.

I played piano for 5 years but gave it up for the sax.  I played sax for 8 years, but haven't picked it up in years, though.  I've played guitar for 15 years and still do regularly.

I played rhythm guitar in a band in the early 90s.

I had a Les Paul Gold Top with an 80-watt Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Amp
I used a Morley Wah/Volume Peddle mostly, but I had experimented with foot controlled effects boards.

We did a couple of originals, but mostly covers of KISS, Alice and Chains, STP, Ratt, Savatage, Led Zep, Sabbath, etc etc. I guess it was a mix of 80's hair bands and classic rock. The lead guitarist had an Ace Freley Custom Les Paul w/ the three humbuckers.

My personal favorites, however, where good ol straight up AC/DC, Metallica, Megadeth, and anything with drop "D" tuning.

Favorite song to play Black Sabbath -- Into the Void

I haven't touched it in about 10 years now. Ah, those were the days.

I can play the trombone pretty well . . . though, I haven't kept up with playing it as much as I would hope to.

Always wanted to play the piano.  And I'm going to begin practicing and learning it when I have the free time to do so.  There are so many different piano pieces I would absolutely love to learn how to play . . . namely the first part of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata (seeing as how the second and third parts are seemingly more complex . . . especially the third) and a piano piece I love the heck out of in the Amelie soundtrack.

But nope, I had to go about learning how to play an instument that sounds like different pitched fart noises.  Hoorah!

Welll... in order of skill:

Electric guitar (17 years)
Acoustic guitar (18 years)
Piano/keys (25 years)
Bass (10 years)
Drums (3 years)
Saxophone (6 years)
Tuba (2 years)
Banjo (6 months)

Haven't played the last three in some time... I'd like to take up the mandolin someday, possibly the trumpet as well.

while i haven't had much time for it lately, i do have a little musical background.  i started out with piano when i was about 6 or 7 and took lessons for quite a few years.  i picked up the clarinet later in elementary school and played for about 8 years...haven't really touched it in the 8 years since i graduated from high school though.  other than that, i have a little skill with various types of percussion...played a little in my high school band, but no formal training.

music is something i really enjoy, and i wish i had more time to pursue it now.  i'd like to think i still do alright on the piano, and the clarinet experience is tucked away in a corner of my mind.  the next instrument i take up wil probably be the guitar though

Geez, Laner, you are literally a one man band.

I've been playing guitar since high school and I just bought a black Washburn D100.

I played saxophone in elementary school, high school, college, and a little bit after that.  Played in both Symphonic and Jazz bands.  I played mostly alto, but played baritone a bit, and occasionally got my hands on a soprano.  Played in a couple of honors bands too.

Haven't kept up with it lately, but would like to play it again.

I can play piano pretty well, drums not so well, and a little bit of guitar.  I wish I had the time and/or patience to practice more, but mostly I just dabble now.

I took piano lessons when I was a kid, and a friend was teaching me guitar after I graduated HS.  I keep meaning to either take piano back up, or maybe go back to guitar (those damn chord trasitions were kicking my ass), but I never do.

Maybe once I move things will hopefully improve, and I'll have free time and money to persue things like this.  Although actually, I've been wanting to take drawing and painting more lately, so perhaps I'll start with that.

Well- Zarkon we have something in common.  I played Bass Clarinet as well as Contra-Bass Clarinet from 7th grade through 10th grade.  When I was a Junior I switched exclusively to Contra-Bass Clarinet and played it through College - I was in Concert band at Texas Tech, and for Marching Band was in Colorguard.

I also marched in the Drum Corps Sky Ryders one summer - best one of my life - again Colorguard.

Guitar for the past 17 years playing along to my favorite metal songs.  I kinda lost interest a little during the 90's when when guitar chops became passé, but I've been excited about music again in the past couple years with all the good metal coming out of Europe.

I also dabbled in drums for a year and a half, but I didn't have the dexterity to play the beats/fills I heard in my head.

I used to play the baritone in marching band.  Did it for 6 years and hated it.

Of course, by way of similar construction, I can basically play all 3 valved wind instruments.

Started on piano, then to clarinet, then added bass guitar, then switched to bass clarinet (couldn't keep up with the fast normal clarinet stuff) and there you go.

Been playing bass for about 20+(!) years now and still going strong. As DCW (yo dude!) said, bass is the place.

I guess I'm pretty talented.

I can play:
Guitar - Electric, Acoustic, Acoustic Electric, Bass
Banjo
Piano
Drums
Recorder

Basically I can play any string instruments really well.

But not so good on the wind and percussion.
