Well I think we all knew from interviews and stuff that Bloodlines was done but they had to wait until HL2 was released before they could release.
I figured it would be at least a week after HL2 but yesterday EBgames changed the release date from 11/8 (obviously wrong) to 11/16. If their contract with Valve lets them release that close to HL2 then I see no reason they couldn't (game is done, etc.)
So now for those of us interested in single player games.....the choice is tough. I think HL2 will have a pretty good story but Bloodlines looks so cool....
I may have to take a coin to toss with me to the store on 11/16

HL2 will definitely come first for me. I don't know where Bloodlines could fall in the queue- it depends on how fast I work through all of the other releases I'm more excited about.
One advantage to waiting a little while is that Troika games have never been really stable on first release so waiting long enough for the first patch may not be a bad move (though the one for TOEE seemed to take an eternity).

Hats off to Troika for removing the multiplayer aspects of Vampire, and focusing on the singleplayer game.
I just read that Vampire is the first game besides HL2 to use the Source engine. Should be an interesting day.
Btw, the simple solution to this problem: get both

Vampire was always contractually obligated to ship after HL2, hence all of us fan boys getting pissed whenever Valve would screw around on the ship date. I'm glad to see Troika was ready and waiting and will have it out so soon. I know Ron will sleep better at night now.

I'll worry about Bloodlines when they announce it's gone gold. Right now I'm looking at a week to play Halo 2 and then I get Half-Life 2. Of course I have 28 days to get my PC fixed too.... god the next 2 months are going to be expensive...

Man, I thought September was bad, but November is looking to be the month of the juggernauts. EQ2, WOW, Halo 2, Halflife 2, and Bloodlines. That's just... not right.

You'd think Valve would have stipulated something in the Source contract to insure some sort of delay rather than let a same day kinda thing occur.
Regardless, is Troika insane? I know they want a November release at all but shipping the same day is like opening across from a Star Wars movie.

They have gotten a lot of good press and I think their is a good amount of interest in Bloodlines so it isn't a terrible idea. Yes they will not have as many sales but at this time of year I think it is "get the game out the door as soon as possible" With the holiday shopping season upon us they really can't afford to wait until a week with less other releases.

Ye gads! Pirates is coming out for the PC too?!
I'm already buying Halo 2, Half-Life 2, and Bloodlines, but now Pirates.... Ah hell, I'm already saving up for it, so I'm not too worried. But, I am going to look around for any extra things I can ebay.

I have paid absolutely no attention to Half Life 2, so this announcement that Bloodlines is now being released on 11/16 makes me sad. I was still going off Daehawk's post about it shipping in October. Thanks Daehawk and Half Life 2 for crushing me.

The only worry I have with Bloodlines besides it being a Troika game is how short it will be. Im worried that yhe whole time Im playing it im going to be telling myself to go slow and make it last because its most likely really short.

Do you have any information that would lead you to believe its short? One good review is probably all I need to get sold on Bloodlines.

Eh? Troika game a short one? I didn't think Arcanum and TOEE were overly short, though they were horribly filled with bugs - something I hope they've rectified with the time they've had (unlike with Arcanum).

Troika is known for making buggy--sometimes good--games, but not short ones. I think people complain about it being short because they quit early due to all the bugs. I'm a Troika fan and I think along the lines that Troika keeps getting hit with very short development spans, something that's not a good idea for RPGs.

I can't remember where I read it, but one of the newer previews said 30-40 hours for the main quest, 60 to do everything.

So let me get this straight.
HL2, Vampire Bloodlines, EQ2, and World of Warcraft ALL might possibly release the same day?
LMAO
God, I feel sorry for EB workers.
It will be the biggest release day in the history of computer games.

I don't know if all these games will make it, but that's also the day Prince of Persia : Warrior Within, Pirates!, GoldenEye 2, Call of Duty : Finest Hour, and Baten Kaitos are scheduled to ship, and Metal Gear Solid 3 is scheduled for the day after.

I fear going into work that morning. It's going to take long enough just getting the games out of the boxes and processed right, let alone trying to do it with a howling mob of console and PC gamers screaming for blood.
Anyone know where I can get a good tazer?

If gaming stores were smart, they would open at midnight to help with the rush.
