What is currently the best fighting game for the PC?  Mp isn't important, so I'm leaning towards getting someone Strret Fighter IV but if there's something better it be worth considering.

Definitely going to be SF4.

Yup, definitely SFIV. You'll need a decent controller for it though. I've found my PS2 controller w/USB adaptor to work well and my Madcatz SF fighting pad (360 & PC) works even better. Other than SFIV, the best fighting game would probably be a 16 bit classic that was ported to the PC. I've personally enjoyed SFIII Alpha, SFIII 2nd Strike and Garou MotW (best Fatal Fury).

Ooooh yeah, forgot about One Must Fall - fun game. Didn't it release in the mid 90's or somewhere around then?

It's SP only but they are creating a sequel overgrowth which will be MP. That's all I know - would love to hear some impressions

Sorry to necro, but I found this in a search for Lugaru info.  I'm playing the demo right now and have to say it's a pretty amazing little fighting game.  Anyone else gotten into it?  I see that Overgrowth is in full development, but seeing as Lugaru is it's predecessor I had to give it a try.  Would love to hear what anyone else thinks about it...I believe it was aslo part of the Humble Bundle a while back, but I missed it.

while that IS a game with fighting in it, it's not a fighting game.  It's a 'brawler'.

While that may be true (also termed "beat 'em up), the game was already posted here and no one argued the point at the time...but I can start a new thread if that would make you feel better?

If you do go with Street Fighter IV, the Capcom store currently has Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition on sale for $15 plus shipping.
