When I started on reviewing Drillers, I was concerned, did Deep Sea Adventure need to be a deckbuilder? Tack on the lackluster solo mode, and I was getting ready to spend my review pushing back against the hype. Of course, I'm not going to write off a game on account of a poor two-player performance and a solo mode that simulated a 2p game, but worse. At higher player counts, I was able to see some of what people were talking about. Did my preconceptions damage my perception of the game, and therefore the review? No, it just meant I approached a game that was getting a lot of buzz with a healthy dose of skepticism.
