Today, Bedtime Digital Games announced that the musical adventure Figment will unfortunately be released on June 28 for the Nintendo Switch, a little later from its original May 31 release date. The developer cited some unforeseen technical problems, but assured gamers that it will be worth the wait.
The game had previously been slated for a 31 May release, but an unforeseen technical issue has meant the date has needed to be pushed back to 28 June.
Bedtime Digital Games’ CEO and co-founder, Klaus Pedersen, explained: “We were all set to go for the 31 May launch, but then we found a small technical issue that needed fixing before release. The fix was a quick one, but unfortunately, it meant we had to pick a new release date.” He added: “We’re really pleased with Figment on the Switch – it’s a really natural fit for the platform – so we hope that players feel it was worth the wait when it launches on June 28th.”
Following widespread acclaim at the time of its PC launch last September – with reviewers calling the game “delightful” and praising its “truly outstanding musical work” – Figment has already been the recipient of a number of awards, including ‘Best Narrative’ at BIG Festival, ‘Best Art’ at Casual Connect, and ‘Best Sound’ at AZPlay.
Figment will be available via the Nintendo eShop from Monday 28 June 2018, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions to follow.
