Turtle Beach releases premium Velocity One Flightdeck HOTAS with touch controls and screens

There’s no doubt that flight sims are coming back in a big way.  Flight Simulator 2020 received a free Dune update today, Star Citizen continues to get tighter controls as it moves into its final polish stages, and Everspace 2 is absolutely insane with a HOTAS setup.  Well, Turtle Beach agrees, releasing a brand new premium version of their Velocity One Flightdeck HOTAS.  Let’s dig into this remarkable new device:

Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flightdeck Universal HOTAS Simulation System for PC

Flight sim fans should suit-up and get ready for action as best-selling gaming headset and accessories maker Turtle Beach Corporation (Nasdaq: HEAR) today announced the Turtle Beach® VelocityOne™ Flightdeck is now available. VelocityOne Flightdeck is Turtle Beach’s premium combat HOTAS (Hands-On Throttle And Stick) flight simulation control system. It is designed to provide full-control mastery in today’s sophisticated flight and space combat games on Windows 10 & 11 PCs. VelocityOne Flightdeck is available now from www.turtlebeach.com and participating retailers for $399.99 MSRP.

“Whether you’re flying in the skies or stratosphere, VelocityOne Flightdeck delivers an unmatched contemporary flight simulation experience,” said Cris Keirn, Interim CEO & SVP of Global Sales, Turtle Beach Corporation. “We’re excited to continue expanding our best-selling and award-winning lineup with the new VelocityOne Flightdeck HOTAS.”

Expertly designed by the same team behind Turtle Beach’s best-in-class VelocityOne Flight, VelocityOne Rudder, and VelocityOne Flightstick, the all-new VelocityOne Flightdeck controls mirror those of today’s state-of-the-art fighter jets and advanced spacecraft. VelocityOne Flightdeck provides a peerless HOTAS experience with its comprehensive controls. Fifteen axes and 139 programmable functions allow pilots to customize the controls to their liking while keeping them immersed in the action during gameplay. The world’s first Flight Touch Display and an OLED Heads-Up Display deliver unprecedented levels of performance optimization and customization. Additionally, VelocityOne Flightdeck’s Flight Hangar app for Windows PC and iOS/Android devices provides even more in-depth customization, including control of RGB lighting zones and additional touchscreens for pilots to expand their setup.

As someone who frequently uses the previous version of the Flightdeck on every one of the games I mentioned earlier, I’m excited to see a more sophisticated setup with even more advanced options for mapping controls and controls is exciting.  Being able to directly integrate my games with the on-board OLED and touch display is already making me wonder how I could map these for my mining and scrapping expeditions in Star Citizen, or combat actions in Everspace 2.  Flight Simulator 2024 is just around the corner, and games like Ace Combat 7 and War Thunder continue to be an absolute blast with the right hardware.

We’ll be looking to get our hands on one of these setups for review.  One thing is for certain — this is the new raised bar for everyone on the market.  Once you fly with something like this, there’d be no going back.   Here are a few more high-resolution images to whet your appetite.
