The Bureau: XCOM Declassified making-of video

xcom

XCOM: Enemy Unknown was one of the best strategy titles to hit last year, and we absolutely loved it, as you can see in our review.   In fact, it won our Best Strategy Game of 2012!   Well, the team at 2K have another ace up their sleeves with The Bureau: XCOM Declassified.  Today we’ve got a developer diary featuring Alyssa Finley, Vice President of Product Development at 2K Marin, and Nico Bihary, Senior Producer at 2K, talking about the various aspects of the game, including the setting, the Battle Focus system, and how it all comes together for the game.   Watching this short trailer shows nicely that this is shaping up to be the tactical game we’ve all wanted.   The sweet part is that this is just the tip of the iceberg – we’ll have more info and in-depth coverage running up to the August 20th release date.  That kicks off tomorrow!   The trailer, entitled “Burn Room” goes over the reveal from a few months ago.  For fun, we’ve embedded that right here:

The Making-Of gives us some great views of in-game strategies, and the repeated promises that this will be a challenging game despite the shift in perspective is encouraging.  What can I say?  We like our XCOM brutal!    Stay tuned as we declassify The Bereau: XCOM Declassified over the next four weeks.
