GSC Game World has announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope, the first major story expansion for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, will launch on August 20, 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
Cost of Hope once again puts you in the boots of Skif, the protagonist of Heart of Chornobyl, as a mysterious PDA signal pulls him into events unfolding alongside the main game's story. The expansion promises uncharted locations, unexpected allies and enemies, powerful new weapons, and a gripping storyline packed with dozens of hours of content.
Launching alongside the expansion on August 20 is Update 2.0 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. This is a massive free upgrade available to all owners of the base game. More details on both Cost of Hope and Update 2.0 will follow in the coming weeks.
