In a surprising announcement, Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil Revelations will be released on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, completing the collection of modern Resident Evils on the system.
Resident Evil Revelations takes place just before Resident Evil 5 on the reportedly abandoned “Queen Zenobia” cruise ship. As you play through the story, you will see the ship through Jill Valentine’s eyes and through Chris Redfield’s as he searches for Jill.
If playing solo isn’t your style, grab a friend play Raide Mode where you take on hordes of enemies with hopes of reaching the end of each stage. “The Ghost Ship: Chaos,” is included, which is a new take on the popular stage including a more powerful selection of armory and ways for players to upgrade their weapons. Enemies will also be moved into different places than players are familiar with.
The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release will feature a 1920×1080 resolution, an improved framerate, refined creature movement and increased environmental detail. In addition, the all of the downloadable content released for Revelations will be available as unlockable content.
Resident Evil Revelations will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 29th for $19.99.
In addition to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One copies of the game, Capcom has announced that it is working on a Nintendo Switch release of Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Revelations 2, which, unlike its predecessor, had never been released on a Nintendo platform. This title will be available sometime in Late 2017.
