S-GAME has announced that Phantom Blade Zero will now launch on October 29, 2026, pushed back from its previous September 9 date. The studio also confirmed during today's State of Play that pre-orders will open this summer.
In a message to fans, CEO and creator Soulframe apologized for the delay, framing it as a chance to push the game one step further rather than ship it knowing more was possible. The roughly 50 day delay will be used to complete a set of focused, clearly defined improvements that affect players' first impressions of the game.
The team has upgraded character models and reworked environments toward the highest standard it can currently achieve, while working to preserve that visual impact even without ray tracing. The priority, Soulframe said, is delivering the best possible version of the game to day-one players rather than relying on post-launch updates.

The studio also previewed what's coming next: a new trailer with entirely new in-game footage releasing alongside pre-orders, followed by a dedicated 15-to-20-minute State of Play deep dive into the game's world, combat, exploration, and character progression. Exact dates will be shared in upcoming announcements!
