PAYDAY 3 has been out for a little while now, and the first big piece of content is here. Syntax Error involves a high-tech heist, and of course there’s something to do with AI in this one. We thought PAYDAY 3 was pretty good when we reviewed it back in October, so it’s nice to have new content to dive into. Check out all the intel below, along with the new trailer above.
Larkspur, Calif. (Dec. 12, 2023) – Deep Silver and Starbreeze announce that PAYDAY 3: Chapter 1 – Syntax Error, the first DLC Expansion for the ultimate heist shooter fantasy PAYDAY 3, releases today.
Syntax Error unfolds a high-tech heist with the suspenseful atmosphere the series is known for. The PAYDAY gang needs to prevail against an enemy AI called “SINS,” wittily setting traps and causing confusion. Every move counts because the ultimate computing power is always one step ahead.
A new trailer for PAYDAY 3: Chapter 1 – Syntax Error showcases the gang taking on an advanced AI that tries to trap them as they fight to recover critical information about their enemies.
About Syntax Error:
Syntax Error is now accessible to Season Pass owners and available to buy separately on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The DLC consists of:
- The Heist Pack with PAYDAY 3: Chapter 1 – Syntax Error.
- The Weapon Pack with three new weapons alongside mods, a sticker, and a charm for each one.
- The Tailor Pack with four new masks, suits, and gloves.
- The first DLC expansion for PAYDAY 3 also comes with a free update that includes a new Enemy class named Techie, three masks and a new skill line: Scrambler.
Story:
In PAYDAY 3: Chapter 1 – Syntax Error, the gang is thrust back into action following a mysterious conspiracy, just to unravel a bigger web of betrayal spinning around John Concord, the former CEO of Murkywater. Players will execute a high-tech heist and ultimately face a hidden enemy empowered by an AI called “SINS.” They must leverage the art of heisting to execute their revenge on the CEO of Scry Digital, the man that tried to kill the gang. As they enter the building, the heist intensifies and they expose a cutting-edge drone system. These remote-controlled objects provide intel about John Concord’s scheme.
The four most well-known clown-masked criminals in recent video game history returned from retirement this September in PAYDAY 3 on PC via PC Game Pass, Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox Series X|S, on Console Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and GeForce Now.
