Mr Magpie's Harmless Card Game gets Matt Mercer and a console launch

The puppet boss finally has a voice, and it belongs to Baldur's Gate 3's Minsc. Performance review is mandatory.

What if your boss was a smiling puppet who insists everything is perfectly harmless, and you had to flip cards for him or lose your job, permanently? That's the pitch behind Mr Magpie's Harmless Card Game, and today it got a voice and a lot more places to play.

Matt Mercer, the voice behind Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Vincent Valentine in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Minsc in Baldur's Gate 3 and Vecna in Dead by Daylight, is now the voice of Mr Magpie. The reveal came in a new trailer during the ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase.

The workplace is expanding

The corporate horror deckbuilder is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, alongside PC. It will also be on Xbox Game Pass Day One, with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

If you haven't played it, the game blends Minesweeper-inspired deduction, push-your-luck mechanics and roguelike deckbuilding. You flip cards, use hints to work out where the dangerous JERRY cards are hiding, exploit strange synergies and chase increasingly ridiculous multipliers to make quota before closing time.

Developer Giant Light Studios is working with publisher Miss Behaviour (Behaviour Interactive) and Gambit Digital on the game.
