More than 2 million people have been scared by the Silent Hill 2 remake

It’s official! The Silent Hill 2 remake is a huge hit and has officially sold more than 2 million units between the PC and PlayStation 5 releases. The Silent Hill 2 remake did a fantastic job bringing a survival horror classic to the modern age and in our review, we stated, “If you had any doubts about the Silent Hill 2 remake, then throw them out the window because Bloober Team cooked with this one. LOS ANGELES – January 29, 2025 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) today announced SILENT HILL 2, the critically acclaimed remake of the 2001 psychological horror has sold a combined 2 million physical and digital units. Released on October 8, 2024, SILENT HILL 2 is currently available on PlayStation®5 and PC via STEAM®.

Since its release, SILENT HILL 2 has received a multitude of accolades including several “perfect” review scores, multiple award wins and nominations cementing itself as a timeless entry in the horror video game genre.  

Developed by Bloober Team, composer Akira Yamaoka and concept artist Masahiro Ito, experience the guilt, grief and existential horror of James Sunderland as he explores the town of Silent Hill – the special place he and his late wife Mary used to visit –a symbolic backdrop now shrouded in fog. The remake expands the areas players can explore, introduces an over-the-shoulder view, revamps the combat system, and adds new cut-scenes to give new and returning players different ways to experience the game. What awaits in the shrouded alleyways and corridors of Silent Hill?
