Maestro Media is evolving by adding a new avenue for designers/publishers to get their creations to the tabletop:
Maestro Media, the two-time Inc. 5000 fandom company behind The
Binding of Isaac: Four Souls, Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid and REWIND TM, today announced the launch of Overture by Maestro Media TM, a new initiative that gives designers, publishers, licensors and retail partners access to the publishing, licensing, manufacturing and commercial infrastructure Maestro has built to bring products from concept to shelf.
Maestro now operates across three businesses: Games, which develops and publishes titles under major entertainment licences; Direct to Consumer Products, which turns those worlds into physical goods fans live with; and Digital, which brings Maestro’s tabletop titles into video game formats, beginning with a digital edition of Bridge Constructor: Breaking Point developed with Headup Games.
All three businesses draw on the same capabilities Maestro has developed across crowdfunding, direct-to-consumer and retail. With Overture by Maestro MediaTM, the company is making those capabilities available to creators and partners globally.
“The hardest part of this industry has never been the ideas,” says Frazier. “It is everything after them. Getting your design in front of a publisher, funding the development, entering distribution, landing it on a shelf. We built a machine to do that for our own titles alongside some of the largest licensors in the world. Overture by Maestro Media TM opens that machine to everybody else. ”
Overture by Maestro Media TM works three ways. It can co-publish a finished game, carrying it through licensing, manufacturing and into retail. It can partner on development, production and go-to-market. Or it can acquire a title outright and bring it to a wider audience. Through the platform, designers, publishers, inventors and IP holders bring a project to Maestro and get a seat at the table as it moves through development, manufacturing and onto shelves.
The initiative builds on the infrastructure Maestro has developed since 2019. Frazier has raised more than $16 million across 16 crowdfunding campaigns, while Maestro has worked with more than 40 licensed properties, shipped more than 400,000 products and built a community of more than 200,000 fans.
“I spent eight years on the buying side, and the games that didn’t make it were almost never the bad ones,” says Lumax. “They were good games whose creators ran out of road somewhere between the prototype and the pallet. That is the gap Overture by Maestro Media TM closes.”
Ryan Lumax has been promoted to Vice President and Head of Games. Prior, Lumax spent eight years at Lion Rampant Imports, the Canadian distributor acquired by Asmodee in 2019, serving as Head Purchaser and later Purchasing Manager before joining Maestro in 2025. At Lion Rampant he worked with the Zoch Verlag catalogue, including Ghost Blitz, the title Maestro will bring to North America in January 2027.
Overture by Maestro Media TM formalizes a role Maestro has already played in helping games and creators reach new audiences. The company brought Zoch Verlag’s award-winning Ghost Blitz to North America for the first time and partnered with Nighthawk Interactive on Half Truth: Second Guess.
That work continues with Maestro’s partnership with leading Brazilian tabletop publisher D20 Culture to co-publish the titles Justice League Unlimited and The Lord of the Rings: Foes of Middle-Earth worldwide, in all languages.
“We’re excited to work with Maestro because we see the same opportunity they do: great games shouldn’t be limited by borders,” says Peterson Rodrigues, CEO of D20 Culture. “Bringing these titles to players around the world, in their own languages and through partners who understand their markets, is exactly the kind of collaboration we want to be part of."
Alongside Games, Maestro is expanding its investment in Direct to Consumer Products, the company’s fastest-growing line of business.. The division spans collectibles, plush, apparel and subscription programs.
Maestro’s first subscription program, built around The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls, became a multimillion-dollar success, delivering exclusive collectibles to fans around the world. It has now been followed by Unboxing of Mewgenics, based on Edmund McMillen’s breakout video game.
Mewgenics sold one million copies on Steam in seven days, reached more than 115,000 concurrent players and holds a 90% positive rating across more than 50,000 Steam reviews. It is not merely a hit game. It is one of 2026’s breakout entertainment properties with a recent Gamescom featured performance. Unboxing of Mewgenics is available now at UnboxingofMewgenics.com.
“A game, a collectible, a subscription box and a shelf at retail are the same thing to a fan: a way to hold something they love,” says Frazier. “We’re excited to build the ecosystem to make this happen.”
Overture by Maestro Media TM will be open to publishers, licensors and creative partners from launch. The first submission window for game designers opens January 1 and closes January 30, 2027. For more information, contact
