Hoverbike racing adventure game, Desert Child, races onto consoles, PC, on December 11th

Akupara Games announced that the hoverbike racing game, Desert Child, will finally be released on December 11th, 2018. This game will feature lo-fi beats to accompany a pixel-art solar system inspired by Cowboy Bebop, Akira, and Redline.

In Desert Child you are broke, but talented, hoverbike racer who needs to find a way off Earth to get to Mars to compete in the Grand Prix, the greatest race in the universe. Explore a vibrant pixel-art solar system in this stylized racing adventure flavored with colorful sidequests, fierce hoverbike competitions, and a chill, lo-fi hip-hop soundtrack, all developed by solo developer, Oscar Brittain.

In Desert Child, you will have the opportunity to race for money (either by winning or throwing the race), deliver pizzas, and hunt bounties. Interplanetary cuisine will give you buffs to help you win, and you can even customize your bike with modifications to play a style you prefer.

Desert Child will be released on December 11th, 2018. We had a chance to check out the game at E3 2018. Check out our hands-on preview of the game here.
