Four years is a long time to keep a gun-girl army marching, and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is marking the milestone like it means it. Level Infinite and developer SHIFT UP have revealed the 4th Anniversary Update, arriving worldwide on October 29.
It's a big one: three new or upgraded characters, the end of the Underground Ark storyline, a Stellar Blade music crossover and a pile of free pulls. The reveal came during an official livestream, and there's a main battle trailer to go with it.
New faces, and a free SSR
Marian: Queen competes with the Space Queen for the ultimate prize so she can build a world of mutual love where her companions no longer perish. Scarlet: Goddeath is an upgraded, Eden-enhanced form of Hongryeon, with a reinforced body and a dark-matter-infused sword forged from her and Jang-hwa's shattered blades, capable of cutting through Lilith's body.
The one everybody will want is Rapunzel: Sanctuary, a free SSR. She's modeled after a Pope motif and is a high-mobility support form that uses Red Shoes' technology to move across the battlefield. Players can claim up to four copies for free through anniversary events.
The Ark story hits a turning point
Main Chapters 49-50 escalate the defensive campaign ahead of the Ark's surface advance into the full-scale 3rd Surface Recapture War. It closes out the Underground Ark plotline, though a brand-new story chapter is teased to follow.
Alongside it comes the "MARIA-n" story event, where Marian wakes in unfamiliar surroundings inside a sprawling research facility and takes her first steps across the surface. There's also "Fading Affection," a branching, choice-driven text-based visual novel minigame about revisiting scattered memory fragments.
Stellar Blade, costumes and rewards
The NIKKE x Stellar Blade soundtrack collaboration, TRACING THE STARS x Stellar Blade, brings a 22-track music collaboration (four tracks free), custom note skins, minigame backgrounds and a special character addition.
Four new costumes arrive too. The gacha pair is Marian: Queen - Last Affection, a wedding dress skin, and Snow White: Heavy Arms - Lacrimosa. The battle pass adds Neon_Vision and Nayuta_Vision.
On the rewards side, Commanders can earn up to 259 free recruitment attempts during the event, plus 4th Anniversary Nikke Selection Boxes that let you choose between Rapunzel: Sanctuary, Chime, Rapunzel: Pure Grace or Snow White: Innocent Days. Full Spanish text localization also launches with the update.
Out in the real world
On October 29, NIKKE takes over One Times Square (1475 Broadway & 42nd St.) in New York City for the entire day, and fans are invited to take photos with Marian. From October 31 through November 14, Animate Los Angeles hosts an in-store event with 3D illusion wall art, themed decorations, exclusive merchandise and community activities.
