First gameplay trailer released for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Borderlands spin-off

During the PlayStation Showcase, we got our first look at the gameplay of the upcoming Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands spin-off to the Borderlands franchise.

The game is set in the campaign setting of Tiny Tina’s tabletop role-playing game where unicorns, skeletons, and of course, guns, exist in abundance. Because the game is set in the imagination of Tiny Tina, the settings look varied and filled with character, even when compared to those of past Borderlands games.

Gameplay looks very similar to that of Borderlands, with the looting and the shooting elements fully on display in the trailer. However, the shooting is augmented by various spells, melee weapons, and other skills. Additionally, the game adds an overworld aspect akin to that of older JRPGs that lets players explore the world as miniaturized avatars of their characters with big heads.

This game might add just enough to the old Borderlands formula to draw in new players, and it should definitely be familiar enough to the mainline games’ fans to offer them a fun experience.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is available for pre-order now, and it is set to release March 25, 2022.
