EA Sports newest FIFA trailer showcases the myriad of new options and changes in FIFA 14’s Ultimate Team mode. FIFA Ultimate Team, the most popular game mode within FIFA worldwide, boasts 3.4 million matches played daily. Many of the changes are highly desired amongst the game’s online faithful.
The biggest change comes with new player chemistry options that replace the restrictive formation system of the past. Rather than being set up with a particular offensive or defensive style, players can have chemistry styles applied to them so that they play a certain way, setting up others for passes or taking charge themselves. Now, players can tinker with the way a formation works on a position-by-position basis, allowing for a number of innovative strategies to gain the upper hand on the pitch. Players will also be able to customize the set-piece takers for the first time in the mode, allowing for even deeper strategy.
A single match mode has returned due to popular demand, providing a lighter gaming experience within the mode. For those dedicated to the league style play of Ultimate Team, divisions have been expanded from 5 to 10, making the climb to division 1 all the more challenging. These and a number of other new developments promise for a deeper and more cerebral FIFA Ultimate Team experience.
FIFA 14 is slated for a September 24, 2013 release. For more information, visit the FIFA 14 homepage.
