Remember when every movie tie-in game was a button-masher you could play with a friend on the couch? DreamWorks Shrek 2 Remastered is here to bring that back, and it's launching on November 10.
Aspyr, working with Universal, is rebuilding the 2004 action-adventure inspired by DreamWorks Animation's film. It's coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

What's new in Far Far Away
Everything has been rebuilt with better textures, an enhanced UI, 4K resolution and cutscenes. You can swap characters on the fly on every platform, and there's a new Photo Mode for snapping timeless snapshots of your favorite ogre.

There's also a Cheats Menu for anyone who'd like a more seamless playthrough, which is a polite way of saying you can skip the parts that frustrated you in 2004.
Bring three friends
The big addition is co-op for up to four players. You can play couch co-op, online, or a mix of both, so Shrek, Fiona, Donkey and friends can all be on screen at once.

The levels are a trip through the fairytale kingdom, from Shrek's swamp to Fiona's castle, with familiar characters and hidden Easter Eggs along the way. Swap heroes to battle enemies, take down bosses and solve environmental puzzles using each character's unique abilities.

Price and pre-orders
Pre-orders are open now on digital storefronts at $26.99, a 10% discount from the usual $29.99, on all platforms. PlayStation 5 players need a PlayStation Plus subscription to get the discount.
The remaster also lands as DreamWorks Animation's Shrek 5 heads to theaters on June 30, 2027, so there's plenty of ogre to go around.
