Over the weekend, Disney Villainous: The Worst Takes it All from Ravensburger took home the Game of the Year award at the Toy Awards at Toy Fair 2019 in New York. In addition, Disney Villainous: Wicked to the Core, was announced and will function as a standalone game and as an expansion.
“The positive response from Disney fans and strategy board game enthusiasts for the growing Disney Villainous franchise has been overwhelming. In the last quarter of 2018, Ravensburger sold more than a quarter of a million copies globally of Disney Villainous: The Worst Takes It All, and it rose to Top 5 of Amazon’s Most Wished for Board Games,” said Filip Francke, CEO of Ravensburger North America. “Even before it hit shelves last summer, we knew we had a winner and had already begun working on the next in the franchise, Wicked to the Core.”
In Disney Villainous: The Worst Takes it All, players assume the role of classic Disney villains in a competition to see who could be the worst. They will have the ability to send Hero cards to other realms in an attempt to foil other players’ plans. The villains available in The Worst Takes It All are:
- Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)
- Ursula (The Little Mermaid)
- Jafar (Aladdin)
- Prince John (Robin Hood)
- Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland)
- Captain Hook (Peter Pan)
Disney Villainous: Wicked to the Core will feature three new villains:
- Hades (Hercules)
- The Evil Queen (Snow White)
- Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog)
Disney Villainous: Wicked to the Core will be released on March 3rd, 2019 at Target for $24.99. To see the full list of finalists at Toy Fair 2019, visit the official Toy Awards website.
