Cookie Clicker, the idle clicker game that took the world (and schools) by storm eight years ago, is coming to Steam on September 1.

This Steam version will include all of the updates the game has received since its creation eight years ago as well as music from C418 of Minecraft fame.

Check out the full list of features:

  • Collect cookies and spend them to earn even more cookies

  • Over 600+ upgrades

  • Over 500+ Achievements

  • Pet your dragon

  • Mini-games

  • Unlock heavenly perma-upgrades

  • Cloud saving (no more deleting cookies by accident)

  • Music by C418

Just writing this news story has given me the urge to try out the game again, and I am already heavily considering buying the $4.99 Steam release for the achievements and music alone.

The game has expanded so much within the last eight years that it hardly resembles the simplistic game I remember. Now there are cookie stock markets and dragons. It all seems overwhelming from afar, but I am sure the game introduces its systems at a nice pace.
