Beadle and Grimm revealed their latest masterpiece: The Gold Anniversary Edition of Quests from the Infinite Staircase. This collection celebrates the gold anniversary of Dungeons and Dragons:

I’m here, asked, nay, commanded, to announce that we are making a Gold Anniversary Edition of Quests from the Infinite Staircase. For those of you who have not heard, Quests from the Infinite Staircase is a book honoring D&D’s Gold Anniversary, and is a compendium of classic adventures, tied together by the Infinite Staircase, and reworked and updated for fifth edition and beyond. The book includes:

The Lost City
When a Star Falls
Beyond the Crystal Cave
Pharaoh
The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth
Expedition to the Barrier Peaks

All of the books offered within the Gold Anniversary Edition

And what’s a Gold Anniversary Edition? Well, it’s more of what we do! We jam a box full of in-world handouts, battlemaps (27 of them!), bonus encounters, physical artifacts, and the entire adventure broken into easy to use booklets. Everything you need to make the adventures sing.

Why look at these adventures of years past as curiosities, or fragments of history from a past when dice were carved from crude plastic and filled in with crayons? Are they not still adventures worth, well, adventuring? Even re-worked in the framework of an infinite staircase with doors to infinite dimensions, and gussied up a bit to work with the evolving framework of rules, do not the hearts of these adventures beat as strongly as they ever did?

Do not think of them as old. Think of them as time-tested. And indeed, if you are old enough to have played them once, you’re likely old enough to have forgotten most of the details anyway,* and will have as much fun playing them again as you did the first time.

So onwards then, into this golden age, where we honor the past by playing the hell out of the present.
