It's hard to believe it's already been six months since Battlefield 6 released, and we've already had two action-packed seasons to dive into. But what's next for this already iconic game? We've been given a little peek into what players can expect to see over the next six months.
Season 3 starts in May, bringing two maps back to the battlefield that we haven't seen in years. Railway to Golmud from Battlefield 4 is coming back in a big way, with a visual and audio overhaul to bring it up to the Battlefield 6 standard. This version of the map takes place in Tajikistan, but have no fear as this is still the same map that you remember, just with some major enhancements that improve the map's playability. And yes, you are still fighting for control of a train that moves across the map depending on which team has claimed it.
Next up, Cairo Bazaar is also coming to Battlefield 6. Reimagined from its Battlefield 3 Grand Bazaar glory days, the Cairo Bazaar features tight spaces that prioritize close-quarters combat and high-intensity encounters, and that Battlefield 6 flair.

Some big changes are also coming to Battlefield REDSEC and Battle Royale. Personally, I'm excited to see the addition of BR Solos as a matchmaking option. I was surprised when this wasn't an option when the mode was first released, however they've taken that feedback from the community and it's finally happening. Alongside that, we're also getting BR Ranked Play for the ultra-competitive. This will only be coming to the Battle Royale for now, however there are plans to try to expand it to other modes of Battlefield 6 multiplayer and REDSEC in the future.
In July, Season 4 will launch with a naval warfare theme. The season starts off with another reimagining of a Battlefield classic, Wake Island. This map has been seen in multiple Battlefield games already, but now it comes to Battlefield 6, featuring even larger sea and air battles. After that, we get a brand new map, Tsuru Reef, which will be the biggest map in Battlefield 6 yet. It's coming to Battlefield Labs soon, so if you're in the Lab, make sure you check it out. With these two maps, aircraft carriers and naval-based vehicles also make their return, and you'll be able to battle it out in the open water that changes as the match progresses.
We were also given a small teaser of Season 5, which will actually feature three new maps, although we have nothing concrete on where the season will be taking us. They did hint, however, that taking a look at this roadmap may provide clues.

There's even more coming on top of all that we've just mentioned, including several highly requested features, including:
- Proximity Chat
- Platoons
- Server Browser
- MP Leaderboards
- Spectator Mode
There will also be reworks coming to New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields, two maps that have come under heavy scrutiny for failing to live up to the Battlefield standard. Quality of Life is getting some tuning as well, with upcoming changes to things like hit registration, time to kill, challenges, progression, and more.
Lastly, the Elite and Open competitive series are coming to Battlefield 6, giving players another avenue to showcase their skill, potentially on the global stage.
