Assassin's Creed has always had larger than life moves mixed in with others that are more grounded in reality. The team at Ubisoft and Red Bull Gaming decided to blur that line a little bit, and today they released a video showcasing some absolutely incredible and death-defying leaps of faith, setting a new world record in the process! Four top tier athletes took up the challenge:
This year’s Assassin's Creed: Leap of Faith features returning stars Dominic Di Tommaso and Pavel “Pasha” Petkuns, both known for their precision parkour skills and creative approach to freerunning. Joining the line up is Molly Carlson, a world-class cliff diving athlete defined by fearless aerial control; and Lilou Ruel, a freerunner celebrated for her supreme technical finesse.
Together, the athletes navigate the dramatic natural landscapes of Long Island, bringing the movement and flow of the game into the real world. Across four distinct challenges, such as daring sand landings and fearless cliff jumps, the team blends show stopping stunts with game-inspired imagination.
The standout moment comes with the final Leap of Faith, where Dominic Di Tommasso launches from both 12 and 18 metres into a carefully prepared landing below, marking a world-first achievement and the defining moment of the challenge. Lilou Ruel follows with an 18.1-metre jump into hay, while Pasha launches from the highest point of a pirate ship. Molly Carlson rounds out the sequence with a series of precise, highly technical sand landings.
The Red Bull team always pushes the envelope, and WOW does this do exactly that! If you'd like a little "Freedom Units" conversion, 18.1 meters (or metres) is a whopping 59.38 feet, or equivalent to somewhere between 5 and 6 stories high!
