Asmodee announces the release of a new updated core set for Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Check out the press release below:

Four years ago, Asmodee announced the formation of a new studio, Atomic Mass Games. Alongside  that announcement was the reveal of a brand-new miniatures game, Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Today  we take a moment to celebrate how far both Atomic Mass Games and Marvel: Crisis Protocol have  come.  

Our original team of four now numbers nine times that, and our understanding of sculpting and  engineering, plastic production processes, game design and development, the artistic vision, and how  Crisis Protocol sits within the greater Marvel Universe have all grown exponentially over the past  years of intense work on the game. 

It’s with all this growth in mind that Atomic Mass Games is thrilled to reveal Earth’s Mightiest Core  Set, a new updated core set for Marvel: Crisis Protocol that will hit store shelves this fall. This new  core set maintains all the current rules of Crisis Protocol but packages them into a core set that has  been updated in every other way to create the next evolution of entry points into the game. 

Director of Product Development Will Shick had this to say about the new core set, “Earth’s Mightiest  Core Set was an incredible opportunity for us as a studio to refresh the primary entry point for new  players and help guarantee the game’s continued onward and upward growth. When we created the  original MCP Core Set, we worked our butts off to make it the best, most compelling, and fully formed  starter experience for any miniatures game. We’ve learned so much over the last four years since the  original core set’s release. And even though we’ve been able to keep the game rules updated and in  line with what we feel is creating the best Crisis Protocol game experience ever, we were hungry for  the chance to be able to update the original Core Set experience to ensure that it remains one of the  best starter experiences in tabletop miniatures gaming.” 

In addition to the updates around the characters and components of the game, we are also excited to  share the news we will now be offering Marvel: Crisis Protocol in three new languages. Our Head of  Studio Simone Elliott shares this insight, “When we started AMG we simply did not have the  bandwidth to launch the game localized, but it’s always something we wanted to figure out how to  incorporate in the future. When we started the internal development for Earth’s Mightiest Core Set, we  knew it would be the perfect opportunity to include Spanish, French, and German alongside English  for our community of players. Moving to a multilingual format not only allows our community to grow, but reduces the impact on the global supply chain, allowing the studio to act more flexibly in terms of  reprints and distribution.” 

Crisis Protocol Key Features 

• Build Your Roster: Players can choose from over 150 (and growing) iconic heroes and villains from the  Marvel Universe to build their ultimate squad to fight over an interactive and destructible tabletop  battlefield. Players can create thematic squads from teams such as the Avengers, Guardians of the  Galaxy, and the X-Men, or they can create their own unaffiliated Marvel dream team. 
• Take Command of Iconic Heroes and Villains: Each character in Marvel: Crisis Protocol gives players  control over a host of incredible superpowers and attacks. Players can unleash the cosmic might of Red  Skull’s Cosmic Cube; take out multiple enemies with Captain America’s ricocheting shield; or fly higher,  further, faster by transforming Captain Marvel into her binary form. 
• Unleash Cinematic Team Tactic Abilities: In addition to the myriad superpowers players have at their  disposal through their Marvel characters, players also have powerful once-per-game abilities called  Team Tactic Cards that allow characters in their squads to team up and unleash the combined potential  of their abilities.
