Alan Wake heads to Dead by Daylight in one of the most obvious crossovers we didn’t see coming

You already heard me say that The Casting of Frank Stone from TGAs was a perfect team up between Dead by Daylight and Supermassive (the studio behind The Dark Pictures). Dead by Daylight just keeps winning with another genius crossover, this time bringing our favorite writer from one Dark Place to another. Alan Wake is coming to Dead by Daylight as a Survivor, which is an apt descriptor for him given the last thirteen years. The details are below and reveal trailer above.

The nightmarish reality unfolds as Alan Wake steps into The Fog, becoming Dead by Daylight’s newest Survivor on January 30. Immerse yourself in the harrowing world of the troubled writer in this collaborative venture between Remedy Entertainment and Behaviour Interactive.

Trapped in the Dark Place and fighting to escape, Alan’s attempt to write his freedom leads him into The Entity’s thralls, trading one Dark Place for another.

“As I searched for a way out, memories of a script I wrote for Night Springs about a fog-engulfed place flooded back. Surrounded by the same fog, I became a pawn—trapped. I must find a way out. Rewriting that script is key.” – Alan Wake, Lost Manuscript

True to the essence of Alan Wake, actors Ilkka Villi and Matthew Porretta lend their likeness and voice to Dead by Daylight’s Alan Wake Chapter. Players will hear brand-new, original voice lines as Alan Wake confronts his latest deadly challenge in The Fog.

Dead by Daylight, home to horror’s iconic characters, welcomes Alan Wake, expanding its roster of Survivors.

“Since its launch in 2010, Alan Wake has influenced us on the Dead by Daylight team. Our games already feel connected in many ways. To finally see Alan come to the Fog as a Survivor feels like a full-circle moment,” says Mathieu Coté, Head of Partnerships at Behaviour Interactive.

“We are thrilled and honored to have Alan Wake enter the Fog of Dead by Daylight,” adds Sam Lake, Creative Director of Remedy Entertainment. “The lore of both games is surprisingly compatible, a true match in… hell. With Alan Wake 2 now out, the time is right for another nightmare to begin.”

The Dead by Daylight Alan Wake Chapter also introduces the Lights Out Modifier, a limited-time terror layer stripping players of key tools. This new adjustment promises a unique and exhilarating experience in the upcoming weeks.
