The nice thing about the AK with the silencer is the iron sights view is far less intrusive than some of the other assault rifles and the damage on it is good. It's a much better choice for a silenced assault rifle than the M4 which is the choice I see most often.
This is what bothers me about the m14. I would MUCH rather be able to use the m14 with silencer than the g3, but it's simply not practical for me since I can't use the m14's iron sights and have no problem with the g3.

It was nice being able to pick up dead players weapons and try them out instead of no weapons dropping at all.

I need to start playthrough number 2. Can it be beaten on the harder difficulty settings? I found Normal almost unbeatable in 3 sections.
1. The section where you are trying to get to the guys stuck in that building right before the bomb goes off. Once you get to them and have to jump down off the second floor and all hell breaks loose. Whew.
2. The final bunker with the intersecting hallways.
3. Pretty much the rest of the game.

As XBL was down last night I continued my playthrough on Veteran and I finally got through the ambush on Bog. Seems there was a path that I hadn't seen before and it made it infinitely easier. Can't wait to replay the AC130 mission.

Hmmm...as far as mile high goes it is a royal pain in the ass to do.........yes i have beaten it.....3-4 times........you have to run and gun to certain spots...throw flash bangs....and mainly run...... I found that using youtube to see how people were doing it was helpful....after that it just takes practice....i have gotten to where I can clear the bottem floor in 25 sec......
Also....as jarrod pointed out to me after I did this......AT THE END OF IT YOU ON VETERAN YOU MUST SHOOT THE BAD GUY IN THE HEAD......no shooting his legs then taking another shot....it must be a head shot.

On regular-no way you can finish it in that time on Hardened or Veteran. Ok, hardened only takes maybe 7-8.

Yeah Hardened wasn't too difficult... Veteran made me want to put my controller through the screen multiple times. I still have yet to actually finish one particular level on Veteran. Probably never will considering my backlog and low tolerance for frustration.

I am doing veteran on 360, did hardened and veteran on PC-veteran is hard-and the better aim of the enemies on PC made it just downright cruel.

Yeah, i finally got by a place that had me stuck forever- discovered an alternate route- made some good progress and went to bed. Next day live goes down again and I'm all in....at the same point I was before. I forgot to save Daggon autosaves have ruined me Oh and I know the part that was hardest for me in regular: the TV station. Is going to make me smash my 360 to bits on veteran.

yeap it auto saves. Jarrod helpped me in the tv station. The trick is to advance to the check point as quickly as possible. It cuts off the spawn of enemies.....then you can back up and and just take out the ones that have spawned. It makes that part much easier.

I just picked this up and played a few missions. I have to say that the ever-spawning enemies (especially in something like that TV Station mission) really piss me off. I can sit there and keep killing enemies for 10 minutes straight and make no progress, but if I run in like freaking Rambo and get past some invisible trigger all of the sudden there aren't any more guys coming from that direction. Retarded.
It also seems inconsistent on when it registers killing your AI teammates. I've killed some with a shot to the head with no repurcussions but throwing back an enemy grenade kills one and I have to start over. Fuck that.

That's why I think CoD's campaign is best played through 1 time. When you play through again and start to notice the triggers you lose the illusion. Playing on Veteran kind of forces you to take advantage of the triggers which sucks out the fun IMHO.

Well this is my first time playing through the campaign (on normal difficulty), and truth be told the first time I'm playing through more than a demo of a COD game. I really noticed it while I was hanging back at the TV station and trying to kill all of the enemies but they just kept coming. After several futile attempts at that I just ran in like a maniac and cleared it. Stoopid.

I think the spawn triggers are simply asinine and lazy design. If you want 50 enemies to attack the player, code it-make them exist somewhere in the level, not spawn, and NEVER spawn infinitely in a "realistic" shooter. If I want to hang back and pick off the 50 guys then screw you, thats what I am doing. That is choice in a rails-scripted FPS. That and two other moments really frustrated me and would have docked a half point at least if I was writing a review.

Great, just got it for Christmas and in lodaing "The Hog" the game gives me an unreadable disc error (loads everything fine and can play earlier levels, so I'm guessing it is the disc not the system for now)... I'll let my 360 cool and try again later. If not I guess I'll have to try to return it or contact Activision or whomever else is appropriate.

That is one of the reasons I sold it immediately after beating it. I knew I would not ever go online with it and to me the SP is best played once and move on. If I play through a time or two more the specialness of it is worn away and all I am left with a scripted average game. I prefer to remember it as an awesome SP experience and be done with it. And I learned to only rent these in the future.
