Available now, Cyberpunk RED launches its Nexus on Demiplane. Just under a year ago I covered Demiplane’s entry into the VTT space, and found myself impressed with its presentation, ease of use, and responsible content-sharing policies. Not long after that, Roll20 bought Demiplane, integrating features between the two platforms. As of today, Cyberpunk RED is out of early access and fully available on the platform.

The Nexus includes the core rules, Edgerunners: Mission Kit, and Black Chrome, as well as free DLCS in the form of introductory Easy Mode and Night City Weather to provide atmosphere for the interface. The full launch also includes character tools and in-game features to ease the transition into the game whether fully virtual or to supplement at the table.
I have spent a lot of time complaining about how poorly most RPGs present the rules to players, and unless books are written better I’m unlikely to stop. Demiplane is a genuine step forward in cutting down the complexity. The Character Builder walks you through character generation step by step, letting you back up as necessary to check all of your options, while the character sheet itself melds style and form to keep things running smoothly. That sheet remains a few clicks away from PDF download or printing for analogue use. You’ll find gear in the Nexus, but also tools to customize and create your own equipment. More integration is planned, including Night City 2045 to update the setting.

That’s besides a searchable rules compendium and the ability to share with up to 24 friends (double that of D&D Beyond). It’s all clearly broken out between rules, cyberwear, items, and the like, but I count myself impressed with the Street Slang section. A comprehensive listing of setting-appropriate terms with pronunciation guides and rules reference as necessary, this will go a long way towards building out the setting. I would never imagine players sitting with a book’s glossary in front of them when it has to compete with character abilities and gear, but integrated into the app it should make for a great tool.

All of this is viewable now at Demiplane, with more Roll20 integrations coming all the time.
