As game conversations within social media continue to crash out over mundane issues, it's easy to see how important independent media continues to become. I'm including GamingTrend in that conversation, but also the many other notable and rising independent sites—publications that aren't using ragebait and sensationalism. Yes, we all strive for clickable headlines, but the goal is to have depth underneath, not be glorified tabloids and clickbait in the colloquial sense of the word. It's hard work, but it takes support of all kinds—paid and unpaid. We appreciate the support.
I'm working on three pieces for this here newsletter that I hope will be very cool, and insightful. I'm trying stuff. I know y'all adore my opinions (/s) but I want to sweeten the newsletter. But juggling reviews, managing the health of my fading PC, keeping up with Overwatch and other games while giving you this weekly update requires that I focus on getting those pieces done instead of staring at news for two hours a day.
And so, this week is a pure round-up. The team wrote a lot of pieces, and to my delight, there are some editorials (I love opinions, if you haven't noticed). Enjoy!
