Gaming headsets while on a budget can be hard to find. Even more so, finding a budget headset that is also a good quality product. Turtle Beach is one of the biggest names in gaming audio – and they’re no stranger to budget audio options – with the Recon headset lineup being one of the best in class. You can always improve on the winning formula, and Turtle Beach has a low cost option, the Airlite Fit. This headset stands atop the podium as the perfect fit for your entry level gaming audio needs.
The Turtle Beach Airlite Fit headset is an ultra lightweight headset with 40mm over-ear speakers that sits perfectly, not putting really any stress on the top of my head or even the pressure points around my ears. This super light design also makes it very comfortable to wear with my glasses, something my Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 headset should take notes from. The sliders make it easy to adjust to any head size and are also built with better casing to prevent them from falling apart easily, like some of its predecessors. This particular headset is branded with the signature Nintendo Switch red and blue, and has been released at the perfect time for you to pick up for use with your Nintendo Switch 2’s new chat feature.

I tested the headset out with a handful of games to get a better understanding of its audio quality. Of course, this headset isn’t something that you would pick up if you’re aiming for pro circuit-level audio, however, the 40mm drivers do well at picking up the lows and containing the highs. There’s a volume wheel on the back of the left earcup so you can adjust without having to dive into any menus. The noise-cancelling microphone on the left earcup is flip-to-mute, again saving you the hassle of having to mute via menus, and is also flexible so you can adjust how close or far you want it from your face.
This headset retails for just under $30 USD, making it the best option for those looking for a headset either for themselves or the little ones. The only downside I have noticed, and it’s a trend across budget-friendly headsets, is the ear cushions feel stiff, but they’ll get better over time as use tends to soften them up more.
