Lorcana: Elsa Gift Box review — Giving is receiving

Disney Lorcana is a trading card game where players build decks of cards with their favorite Disney heroes and villains. It’s a great game, and I am always looking for ways to get more people to play. What better way than with a Gift Box?

The Elsa Gift Box is exactly what it sounds like, a Lorcana Gift Box that features everyone's favorite ice queen. The package includes a small card storage box half the size of a standard Lorcana Trove, five random booster packs, and a special Glimmer Foil promo card featuring Elsa, The Fifth Spirit. 

The Gift Box retails for $29.99 MSRP, which, just like the Troves, is the same retail price as the packs included in the box. That means you are essentially getting the storage box and promo card for free. Sounds like a deal to me. 

The storage box holds up to 250 sleeved cards and comes with three punchout cardboard dividers. The inclusion of only three dividers comes across as a bit odd for a game that features six different ink colors you will want to organize your collection by, but it’s hard to complain about something that is basically a free add-on. The box features the same Elsa artwork as the included promo card and looks quite nice. 

Since this is a Gift Box, I’ll be gifting this one to my daughter for her 7th birthday. Elsa is naturally one of her favorite characters, and she’s been begging for cards of her own. If you are looking for a way to get a friend or child into the game, this Gift Box would be a great option. This feels odd to mention in a game review, but the packaging presents the products inside well, and its rectangular form factor would wrap up nicely. It is a Gift Box after all.
