I had the pleasure of previewing the expansive RPG Divinity Original Sin II on the Xbox One at E3, and it definitely lived up to the hype.
In a lot of ways, Divinity Original Sin II feels like a tabletop RPG perfected for the screen without the need for a DM. While this was also true within the original version, it’s taken a step further within the Definitive Edition as it supports up to four-player couch co-op (s well as multiplayer). Just as you may have a D&D session with friends around a table, you can now have an expansive group RPG experience.
For those who have already purchased Divinity on PC, you will get a free upgrade to the Definitive Edition when it comes out in August–complete with 45 pages of patch notes. Updates will include a better journal system (with more clearly defined goals), improved cinematic combat, and a party inventory that will perfectly compliment multiplayer play. In addition to these elements, the Definitive Edition brings a new version of Arx, one of the playable areas that appears later in the game to make it better fit late gameplay.
Divinity Original Sin II: Definitive Edition will be available on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC all on August 31st.
