Ever wake up shipwrecked on a cursed island and think, "You know what this needs? A higher frame rate"? Adol Christin has, and he's about to get his wish.
NIS America has announced that Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA is landing on Nintendo Switch 2 on February 25, 2027. The Nihon Falcom action RPG is also picking up Spanish-language support for the first time with this release.
Stranded, again
The setup is classic Adol. He wakes up stranded on a cursed island, and he and the other castaways band together to form a village and look for a way off the rock. Meanwhile, Adol keeps dreaming about a mysterious blue-haired maiden. Who is she, and what secrets surround her? That's the enigma of Dana, and it's what the whole adventure circles around.

What you'll be doing
- An Epic Tale: follow Adol on his latest adventure and uncover the mysteries of the cursed island.
- Party On!: change your playable character on the fly as you battle ferocious foes in lightning-fast combat.
- Another Side: unravel the mystery of the blue-haired maiden Dana through her unique gameplay sections.
- It Takes a Village!: rescue your fellow shipwrecked passengers and bring them to your village, where they provide valuable services.
On Switch 2, you can run this action JRPG classic at up to 120 FPS. Or bring a friend along to cooperate in GameShare and save the day together, since the game supports up to two players.
