Ys Origin coming to Xbox One this Spring, marking the first Ys title on an Xbox platform

The Nintendo Switch isn’t the only system to be receiving a Ys port this year, Dotemu, developer and publisher for Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, announced that the successful prequel, Ys Origin, will be coming to Xbox One later this Spring.

Ys Origin takes place 700 years before the events of Ys I & II when the world of Ys was threatened by demons, forcing the twin Goddesses to safely push their subjects into the clouds. This title was originally released last year for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4. This will mark the debut of the long-standing Ys series on an Xbox platform.

We’re thrilled to announce that Ys Origin is coming soon on Xbox One, bringing for the first time the Ys series to the Xbox! Initially released in Japan in 2006, Ys Origin remains one of the best action-RPGs of all time! You’ll finally be able to experience this epic action-RPG ten years after its original release, with additional cool enhancements and brand-new features. The biggest changes we made were to optimize the visuals and effects and improve the UI and menus so that players can enjoy the full HD widescreen experience. Moreover, you’ll be able to enjoy online leaderboards, trophies and new languages for the first time ever.

The Xbox One version of Ys Origin does not yet have a set release date, but it will be released this Spring. For more information on Dotemu or to learn more about Ys Origin, visit the official website.
