Commissar Sebastian Yarrick, the famed veteran of two wars against the Orks in Armageddon, is apparently alive and well and will be getting a new miniature for Warhammer 40K. The miniature was revealed alongside a new animated short that depicted Yarrick cold-bloodedly executing another commissar who had urged the human forces of Armageddon to flee due to the approach of another wave of Ork armies. Yarrick, already an old man when he first debuted, has aged since his last appearance in Warhammer 40K. While he continues to sport a power klaw taken from the Orks along with his signature bionic eye, he's now sporting servo-enhanced callipers to keep his body functioning.
The 2022 Astra Militarium codex removed Yarrick from active play and suggested that he had died after a lifetime of noble service, but with a new war brewing on Armageddon, it appears that Old Bale Eye (as he's known to the Orks) has at least one more campaign left in him. Games Workshop notoriously left Yarrick's demise open for interpretation back in 2022, so a plan was likely always in place to bring back one of their most popular characters when the need arose. This marks Yarrick's first new miniature since 2000.
Yarrick's return also lines up with rumors for Warhammer 40K's new edition. Armageddon is heavily rumored to be the setting for the game's next launch box, with a battle between the Blood Angels (or more precisely red-painted Space Marines) and Orks as the two leading armies. Yarrick's return more or less confirms an upcoming focus on Armageddon, and when coupled with other announcements, it seems like these rumors are becoming more fact by the day.
