Looking for something to play on your PS3 next year? Something with guns? Japanese gangsters? Pachinko minigames? If I just plucked at some of your esoteric gaming strings, then prepare to have your day brightened: The latest in the fan-favorite Yakuza series is slated for a US release next year! This one features… well, just read below and get a quick snippet for yourself.
“We know how much people love Yakuza in the West and with Dead Souls being the latest and greatest in the franchise, it is only right we bring it to them closer to the Japanese release than ever,” said Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA.
Yakuza: Dead Souls features gunplay for the first time in the Yakuza™ series, where everything from pistols, machine guns and rocket launchers can be employed against the zombie invasion. Just remember to save some ammo in case you run into something even more terrifying than the zombies! With all the depth and story of a Yakuza title, plus the addition of exciting shoot-outs and previously unplayable characters Ryuji Goda and Goro Majima, Yakuza: Dead Souls is worth dying for.
A zombie invasion, stylish outfits, and plenty of guns to go around. But honestly? If you check the press release, it also mentions a pachinko minigame – and that’s the sort of thing that always turns my head. I’m a sucker for games within games, so Yakuza’s probably going on my “buy” list for next year. And if you’re a Yakuza fan, let me know in the comment box what you’re looking forward to with this one – I have to confess, this is one series I haven’t managed to get my hands on yet.
