Head of Xbox Phil Spencer wants the Xbox One’s upcoming backwards compatibility feature to extend past the Xbox 360 and to the original Xbox.
Spencer revealed that he has talked to Xbox’s backwards compatibility team about the possibility of emulating the original Xbox on Xbox One through an exchange on Twitter, but stated that any such feature would have to wait until after the team finished work on making the feature work for Xbox 360 games.
Microsoft announced that it would be making Xbox 360 games backwards compatible on Xbox One through emulation at its E3 press conference in June. The feature is available now to those who are part of the console’s preview program, and will be launching to the public in November.
