Watercolor Adventure Shrug Island Seeks Kickstarter Funding

High definition, high tech computer generated graphics are great and all, but sometimes it’s nice to get back to the basics; games with hand-drawn and painted graphics can look just as nice. Case in point? Amazu Media’s upcoming environmental adventure title Shrug Island. Described as “a game of nature puzzles and musical adventure”, Shrug Island is currently seeking $25,000 in Kickstarter funding to continue development. From the Kickstarter page:

In [Shrug Island], you play as 2 separated friends reconnecting with a living home they’ve been away from for a season, and trying to meet. You switch between the two, use their different abilities to solve puzzles, sing to their surroundings, dialogue and collect parts of the world, as you explore and bring together animated pieces of an unusual story.

Check out the screenshots below to see the beautiful watercolor world of the game. If you like what you see, you can chip in to Shrug Island’s Kickstarter, and vote for it on Steam Greenlight.

Breanna has been gaming since infancy, if gnawing on an unattended controller counts as playing a game. One of the younger members of the Gaming Trend family, she dabbled in PC games as a kid but wasn't fully consumed by the hobby until the sixth generation of consoles. Now an avid PC and console gamer, she looks forward to the day when she can scape together enough cash to join the next gen club.

In the last week of middle school, a math teacher taught her how to program a calculator; she was pretty much hooked then and there. Currently working towards a degree in Computer Science and Applied Math, Breanna hope to someday make games instead of just writing about them. Other hobbies include playing guitar, binge-watching Netflix, and cooking delicious food.
