Watch Dogs is the Fastest Selling Game in Ubisoft History
Ubisoft has confirmed that Watch Dogs is the fastest selling game in the company’s twenty-eight year history.
Since its release yesterday Watch Dogs has sold more units in a 24 hour period than any other game from Ubisoft, including the wildly popular Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry series.
This data comes from internal estimates across all systems as of May 28th, but Ubisoft did not reveal exactly how many copies were sold of the open world game.
“Watch Dogs is an amazing achievement and our teams should be proud that the creativity, innovation, and long hours they invested in making this game are paying off,” says Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. “It’s great to see so many players enjoying the game, and it shows that Watch Dogs has cracked the code for developing a new blockbuster IP and a thoroughly new-gen experience.”
Watch Dogs success comes as little surprise considering the game was already Ubisoft’s highest pre-ordered game of the year.
