Warhammer: Age of Sigmar getting Secret Level episode

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar getting Secret Level episode

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar will be featured in the upcoming season of Prime Video's Secret Level. Games Workshop confirmed the news in its recent half-year's earning report, stating that production was almost complete on the episode. "After a successful collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and Blur for Secret Level (a high-end animated anthology show), we are now meeting with writers to determine our next step to continue the momentum gained from that episode," the report read. "In the meantime, work is almost complete on a standalone Warhammer Age of Sigmar episode. Again, for Prime Video." No release date has been announced for the second season of Secret Level. The first season came out in 2024.

The first episode of Secret Level, an anthology show featuring animations focused on various video games, featured an episode focused on Titus, the protagonist of the Warhammer: 40,000 Space Marine video game franchise. While Titus is primarily a video game character, he also appears in the Warhammer 40K tabletop game and is being featured as the central character in an upcoming campaign book. Warhammer 40K was one of two tabletop franchises to receive a focus in Secret Level, along with Dungeons & Dragons.

When Prime Video inked a deal with Games Workshop to make a Warhammer 40K cinematic universe, it also had the option to make shows based on other Games Workshop IPs, including Age of Sigmar. It appears that they exercised that option with this Secret Level episode.

Meanwhile, Prime Video's work on a Warhammer 40,000 show or movie continues at their pace. "Our live action endeavour is still in development with our partners: Amazon MGM Studios, Henry Cavill and Vertigo," the earning report read. "It is the nature of these things to take several years, and while we wish we could tie down a release the way we can with our core business, the reality is that, as with any licensing deal, delivery is not in our control. We leave it to our partners to manage their own businesses."
