Warhammer 40K's Imperial Knights get a medium-sized Destrier figure

Warhammer 40K's biggest faction (literally) gets a slightly stunted new figure

The Knight Destrier, newly revealed Imperial Knights figure for Warhammer 40,000.

The Imperial Knights, the towering mech-based faction of the Imperium of Man, is getting a brand new figure as Warhammer 40K wraps up its 10th edition. Today, Games Workshop revealed the new Knight Destrier figure, a new miniature that towers over most Warhammer 40K miniatures. However, the Knight Destrier is supposed to be a medium-sized option for the Imperial Knights, standing a bit smaller than the Knights Questoris but larger than the Armiger class of mechs.

The slimmer size and build of the Destrier comes with some movement benefits. Per the reveal article of the Knight Destrier, the mech moves faster than other Imperial Knights thanks to its smaller size and the use of two rocket boosters. They also boast a variety of weaponry, including melee-range thundershock spears and Bellatus reaper chainswords and long-range  gatling cannon and frag bombard.

Within the narrative of Warhammer 40K, the new Knight Destriers are coming to the aid of Forge World Agripinaa, which is set to be the focus of a new onslaught from the Iron Warriors faction of Chaos Space Marines.

With a new edition of Warhammer 40K due out this spring/summer, one has to wonder whether the Knight Destrier will be the last new miniature revealed by Games Workshop ahead of the release. While there are always rumors that a Primarch will return to the Warhammer 40K battlefield, it seems like just about every faction has gotten a release as part of the game's edition-end narrative expansions.
