From the team behind Prey and the Dishonored series comes Redfall a new co-op, open world first-person shooter. Arkane Austin develops this new shooter that sees a band of heroes fight a legion of vampires that have taken over the small town of Redfall. The game will be playable solo or with a full squad of four vampire slayers. Each hero will have unique skills and access to customizable weaponry found throughout the island town.
By night, the vampires rule the town, and during the day the cultists who worship them patrol the streets in their name. To take on the threat these groups face, you’ll need some heroes. In Arkane’s own words, here is what the four main characters are all about:
- Layla Ellison – She may be the youngest member of the team, but there isn’t much she can’t handle with her wits and wildly powerful telekinetic abilities.
- Jacob Boyer – Jacob is an ex-military sharpshooter with a penchant for dark clothing and a mysterious vampiric eye. If you need to find him on the field, look for his spectral raven circling overhead. Jacob won’t be far away.
- Remi de la Rosa – Always spotted with her robotic compatriot, Bribón, Remi lives on the frontlines of conflict, using her brilliant mind and strong sense of empathy to protect her loved ones and help those in need around the world.
- Devinder Crousley – Inventor and internet-famous paranormal investigator, Devinder is ready to prove to the world that vampires are real – but he’s going to need to survive them first.
How did they end up in Redfall? Why are they fighting to save what remains? Why do Layla’s powers manifest in the forms of an old-fashioned elevator and an umbrella? You’ll answer these questions and more as you explore Redfall.
Not much is known about the story so far, beyond these short descriptions, but we do have some information about how the vampires of Redfall came to be. These vampires were greedy people obsessed with the idea of eternal life, and to achieve these obsessions they turned to biotechnological science. Now the vampires are building an army in the town of Redfall and it seems to be up to our four heroes to slay them all before they grow too strong.
